Diana Detwiler Obituary

Diana M. “Dee” (List) Detwiler, 76, of West Lawn, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at The Reading Hospital. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles F. and Dorothy J. (Rhodes) List, and the devoted wife of Garry R. Detwiler, with whom she shared 45 incredible years of marriage.

Dee was proud to call herself a “military wife,” embracing the adventure and uncertainty that came with supporting her husband’s service to our nation. From place to place, wherever the military journey led them, Dee had a special gift for turning houses into homes. With her beautiful flowers and thriving plants, warm hospitality, and natural kindness, she created welcoming spaces filled with comfort and love. Along the way, she formed lasting friendships and touched countless lives.

In quieter moments, Dee found joy in refinishing furniture, bringing worn pieces back to life with patience and creativity — a reflection of her own nurturing spirit. Above all else, she devoted herself to raising her three children, instilling in them the importance of family, perseverance, and love.

In addition to her husband Garry, Dee is survived by her children: Douglas Harrison and his wife Kelly of Auburn, PA, Michelle Harrison of Spring Township, and Laura Harrison of Prescott, AZ. The true lights of her life were her cherished granddaughters, Katelyn, Maia, and Ashley. Her eyes sparkled whenever she spoke of them, and they will forever carry the warmth of their grandmother’s love in their hearts.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington, is honored to assist the Detwiler family during this difficult time. www.kleefuneralhome.com
